Services

I work with adults and older adolescents. I specialize in depression, anxiety, relationships and life transitions, although I work with a wide variety of other issues.

Individual Therapy

It is hard to come and talk to a stranger about your life, yet an unbiased and new perspective can help show you patterns you may not notice about yourself.   Creating a supportive empathic environment to explore the issues you bring to the table is what we will do.

Couples Therapy

As anyone in a relationship knows it is hard to live with another person.  How do we handle ups and downs?  How do we “flip it” when we are in a difficult place with our partner?  Couples therapy can give you both an opportunity to talk and process your feelings.  Coming to therapy is the first step to change.  We will identify the roles you both play in the relationship that are no longer working and then establish new ways of communicating.

Professional Supervision - Individual and Groups

I provide individual supervision for people who have finished their master’s degree and need hours to obtaining their state license.  We meet in a “therapy” time slot weekly to monthly depending on what the supervisee needs.

Group supervision is for social workers who need hours of supervision towards their state licensure. This is a fun interactive group where discussion takes place. The group covers a variety of topics ranging from, case consultation, diagnosis, professional growth, and therapy techniques. This group is co-facilitated by two licensed clinical social workers. It meets bi-monthly at agreed upon times by group members.

Areas of Expertise

Life Transitions

One of my favorite areas of work is with people in a life transition.   We all go through changes, yet change is hard even when it is positive change.  For me, one of the gifts of therapy is meeting clients where they are at and helping them get where they want to be.  Some examples of life transitions are: a new relationship, a relationship change, a move, a new baby, an empty nest, a job change, marriage, divorce, loss, medical issues, retirement, aging parents, etc.  Knowing that you have someone to process this change with has a huge impact.  You’re not alone and can be supported through this time in your life.

LGBTQ

Therapy can help clients assess where they feel most comfortable.  Do you identify as gay, bi, fluid, transgender?  This process can be scary and/or lonely.  You do not have to do it alone.  Therapy can help process feelings of personal acceptance, peer acceptance, family reactions, job issues and community connections.

Fees

My standard charge is $150 per clinical hour (typically 50 minutes of face-to-face time). If your health insurance includes mental health services I will bill them directly.  If you have a deductible or co-pay I will charge you that at the end of the session.

If I am not an in-network provider, then you pay me the full fee, I provide you with a receipt, and you file a claim for reimbursement from your insurer.
